Bill Pickett Rodeo Brought to You by UrbanLyfeStyles Media

Urban Sports of UrbanLyfeStyles Media presents Bill Pickett's Invitational Rodeo...The Nation's Only Touring Black Rodeo. The Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo is an innovative, educational and exciting perspective of the history of the Black American West.

In fact, Texas was discovered and explored by a Black cowboy named Estavanico, and over 35% of the cattle trail drivers in Texas were Black. Entire Black communities existed on the frontier of the Old West - over one-half million families in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas alone.

The famous Lewis and Clark Expedition was led by a Black scout, and a Black cowboy named Bill Pickett. Bill created "bulldogging", which has become one of the major rodeo events today.

Realizing the historical significance of the Black cowboy, Lu Vason developed the Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo Series which is the first of its kind. In September, 1984, the first Bill Pickett Black Rodeo drew thousands of spectators and has grown into a series that is witnessed by over 70,000 annually.

Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo:
"It's a rodeo, African American style!"

Ontario, CA- The second annual Inland Empire Jazz Festival (IEJF) on August 22-24, will be filled with three exciting days and nights of music, charity fundraising and community activities. The Festival has a purpose to help define the word "community" through its various partnerships with local charities and merchants and by bringing World Class, Regional and local known talent to an Inland Empire stage.

The Inland Empire Jazz Festival Charity Weekend is giving back, with the gift of music to its community members with disabilities. On Friday August 24th at Guasti Park, we will kick off the weekend's events with "Celebrate Community Day...Voyage through Music." The event will cater to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities from learning to health and their families. Organizations are encouraged to participate in this magical day dedicated to individuals with disabilities. Unite with us and celebrate their voyage into music and laughter. There will be local jazz talent, celebrity guest appearances and entertainment to bring community members together on this voyage. The day will be filled with family activities created for all ages and special fun for the Inland Empire's developmentally disabled population.

Saturday August 23rd and Sunday August 24th bring celebrated jazz artists from across the world. Entertainment will include: Brian Bomber, Bobby Lyle, Rueben Cannon, Latin Jazz Greats Tierra ft. Mark Wood, Elements, Tim Bowman, Impromp2, Reno Jones, LA Mambo Combo, Althea Rene, and many more The music will include a diverse array of jazz styles including New Orleans, Mainstream, Jazz Fusion, Free Funk, Jazzpel and more.

The Jazz festival has partnered with Operation REAPP who supports students K-12 who are developmentally delayed, the children's charities of SEBA (Firefighters and Peace Officers) and visually impaired residents in Southern California through the Blindness Support Services Inc.
